I Promise

When I decided to write this book I knew that I would have to be honest with myself about my own life. I would have to acknowledge the wrong paths I have taken, the senseless mistakes I have made and the many burned bridges that I can never cross again. I have made friends and I have lost friends. I have been used and I have been good at using. There were many foolish decisions made out of the impulsiveness of my youth. So contrary to what some may believe my life has not been perfect.

When God inspired me to write this book I have to admit that I felt a little inadequate. I felt that God had chosen the wrong person. Why would He choose someone like me? But then I realized that he did not choose me because I am perfect but because I am imperfect. I am not writing this book for me. I am not writing this book for Him. I am writing this book for you.

This book is written from a Christian point of view. So the advice given will be from a biblical aspect. I ask just one thing of you. If I can be honest with you about my personal experiences then I ask that as you read this book to at least be honest with yourself. You do not have to choose the wrong path or make the same mistakes as I have. They say experience is the best teacher but you can learn from someone else’s experiences just as well.

I titled this ‘I promise’ because you have my word that this book has your best interest at heart. This book is written for all women whether you are African American, Caucasian, Asian, Hispanic, or Native American, single or married, young or old, CEO or housewife. If you have the desire to be married or if you are currently married then this book will give you insight on being the woman that God has ordained you to be. Read it, take notes and use it as a manual to refer to at any time.

So sit back and enjoy this book because after all it was written just for you.
